Building Strong Athletes. Building Strong People.
At West Seattle Reign, we believe sports can be one of life's greatest teachers. While wins, losses, and championships are part of the journey, the lessons learned through challenges, setbacks, effort, and growth often have the greatest impact long after the season ends.
The WSR Player Perseverance Program was created to support athletes as they navigate both the successes and challenges that come with sports, school, relationships, and life. Through resources, mentorship, encouragement, and community, we strive to help athletes develop the confidence, resilience, and character needed to thrive on and off the court.
"The true potential of an athlete is not measured by victories alone, but by the strength, resilience, and character developed along the journey."
— West Seattle Reign Sports

The Player Perseverance Program is an extension of West Seattle Reign's commitment to developing the whole athlete.
Our goal is to help athletes build skills that extend far beyond competition, including resilience, leadership, accountability, confidence, communication, and personal growth. Whether an athlete is overcoming adversity, learning from mistakes, facing challenges in school, working through an injury, or simply striving to become their best self, we want them to know they are supported.
This program is not focused on perfection. It is focused on progress.

Every athlete will face challenges.
A missed serve. A difficult season. An injury. A tough class. A conflict with a teammate. A setback that feels overwhelming in the moment.
The ability to respond to those challenges often has a greater impact on long-term success than the challenge itself.
By helping athletes develop perseverance and resilience, we prepare them not only for sports, but for life.
Learning to respond to setbacks, adversity, and disappointment with determination, perspective, and the willingness to keep moving forward.
Understanding that effort, learning, and persistence are essential parts of improvement and long-term success.
Taking ownership of actions, commitments, decisions, and personal growth.
Leading through character, attitude, effort, integrity, and positive influence.
Developing self-belief through preparation, experience, perseverance, and consistent effort.
Building meaningful relationships and supporting teammates, families, coaches, and others through shared experiences and mutual respect.
Helping athletes understand their values, goals, and the positive impact they can have on their teams, schools, families, and communities.
The WSR Player Perseverance Program includes access to educational resources, mentorship opportunities, community partnerships, and tools designed to support athlete development both on and off the court.
Resources may include:
As the program continues to grow, additional resources and opportunities will be added for WSR athletes and families.
Need help finding a resource or navigating a challenge?
We encourage athletes and families to reach out to a coach, team representative, or club leadership team. While we may not have every answer, we are committed to helping connect families with resources, support systems, and opportunities that can help.
No athlete should feel like they have to navigate challenges alone.
Together, we are stronger.
