Meet Coach Taylor
Hi, I’m Coach Taylor! Originally from Iowa, I made my way to Seattle a few years ago, drawn by the mountains and everything the Pacific Northwest has to offer.
My volleyball journey started in middle school as an outside hitter, and I continued to play on a competitive club team throughout high school—some of the best and most memorable times of my life.
I then played for two years in college as a libero/defensive specialist, honing my skills and deepening my love for the game. Since then, I’ve stayed connected to the sport by playing in recreational leagues and sharing my passion with others.
Over the years, I’ve learned that fundamental skills are the foundation for success and growth in any sport. I’ve also come to realize how transformative team sports can be in building character, teaching discipline, and fostering lifelong friendships.
Sports helped shape me into who I am today, and I’m excited to give back by helping the next generation of athletes develop their skills, confidence, and love for the game. I can’t wait to see you on the court!

Meet Coach Mariah
Hi, I’m Coach Mariah! I was born and raised in West Seattle and have been deeply connected to the local volleyball community for as long as I can remember. As an athlete, I gained valuable experience playing every position on the court, ultimately specializing as a setter during my final three years of competitive club volleyball. Over seven years of high-level play deepened my understanding and love for the game, which inspired me to pursue coaching, where I could share my knowledge and passion with youth athletes.
I spent a year coaching high school volleyball, where I gained valuable insight into player development, but I quickly realized that my true passion lies in competitive club volleyball. Here, I can focus on refining athletes' skills, fostering teamwork, and preparing them for higher levels of play. I particularly enjoy coaching U13/U14 teams, where I get to see athletes master their skills, step out of their comfort zones, and build confidence in their abilities. Watching players grow and succeed—both individually and as a team—is what drives me as a coach.
I’m happy to be part of the WS Reign team and look forward to guiding our athletes as they learn, grow, and achieve their full potential.

Meet Coach Jessica
Hi, I’m Coach Jessica! I played youth volleyball for seven years, and those experiences gave me a lifelong love for the game and an appreciation for how sports can build confidence and character in young athletes. For the past two years, I’ve had the privilege of coaching and sharing my passion for working with kids, helping them develop fundamental volleyball skills, and fostering their growth as athletes.
I enjoy working with our developmental teams the most, as it’s incredibly rewarding to watch players improve throughout the season. Seeing an athlete come in not knowing how to serve and leave our Intensive Skills Academy (ISA) program with a jump serve is one of my favorite parts of coaching. That kind of growth is truly amazing to witness!
I also love coaching our Club season league teams, where I get to see athletes build confidence, master new skills, and grow their love for the sport. Watching them push past challenges and succeed on and off the court is what inspires me as a coach.
I’m excited to be part of the WS Reign family and to help our athletes reach their potential.

The bonds they build and the excitement they bring to every game and practice remind me why I love this sport.
I’m passionate about helping players not only improve their volleyball skills but also learn how to work together, communicate, and have fun. I just love being out there with the kids—helping them create cheers, friendships, and personal growth that will last long after the season ends.

Meet Jennifer – Club Director of West Seattle Reign
Hi, I’m Jennifer! Born and raised in West Seattle, I’m proud to be the founder of West Seattle Reign (WSR) and to share my lifelong passion for sports with our community. Having played sports (volleyball, softball, basketball & soccer) for as long as I can remember and coached volleyball locally for many years, I created WSR to address what I saw as a need for a competitive, collaborative, and consistent volleyball club in the West Seattle area—one that fosters a supportive and inclusive environment for all athletes.

To offer opportunities for as many athletes as possible to experience the joy and growth that comes from playing the game. Whether it’s through providing a competitive program for advanced players or offering assistance programs to ensure accessibility for all, we're deeply committed to making volleyball a sport that anyone can participate in, regardless of barriers.
Our club strives to recreate the sense of community in youth sports that many of us cherished as young athletes. We aim to teach our players not only to excel on the court but to develop resilience, teamwork, and a growth mindset—lessons that stay with them long after the final whistle blows.
As the Club Director, I feel incredibly fortunate to work alongside a dedicated team of coaches, staff, and families who share this vision. Together, we’re creating an environment where athletes can grow, thrive, and achieve their potential—even when the match isn’t won.
