At West Seattle Reign, we believe athletics and academics go hand in hand. While sports can teach valuable lessons, education creates opportunities that last a lifetime.
Our goal is to support student-athletes as they pursue success both in the classroom and in competition. Whether an athlete is working to improve study habits, navigate learning differences, explore college opportunities, or prepare for life after high school, we want families to have access to helpful resources and support.
"A strong student-athlete is prepared to succeed both on the court and in the classroom."
— West Seattle Reign Sports

Only a small percentage of athletes will continue competing at the collegiate level, and even fewer will pursue professional athletics.
The habits developed through academics—discipline, time management, problem solving, communication, and perseverance—help prepare athletes for success in sports, careers, and life.

Connecting with a mentor who has already navigated the student-athlete journey can provide valuable perspective, encouragement, and support. Athlete To Athlete pairs youth athletes with current collegiate athletes who serve as mentors, helping young athletes build confidence, develop leadership skills, navigate challenges, and work toward their goals.
Athletic scholarships are only one piece of the college funding puzzle. Many student-athletes receive a combination of athletic aid, academic scholarships, grants, and financial aid to help make college more affordable.
We are proud of the accomplishments of our athletes both on and off the court. This section will celebrate academic achievements, scholarships, college commitments, career milestones, community service, leadership accomplishments, and other successes within the WSR community.
If you're looking for a specific academic, scholarship, college planning, or student support resource, we're happy to help point you in the right direction.
If you're unsure where to start, we're happy to help connect you with the appropriate resources.
While WSR is not an academic advising organization, we believe supporting the whole athlete includes helping families connect with valuable educational opportunities whenever possible.
Together, we are stronger.
